2006 Peak to Peak Rallye Announcement
September 17-22, 2006

After a very successful 2005 event we are proud to announce that the Peak to Peak will once again be held in 2006. Event organizers have already laid out a tentative route that will take participants through parts of northern and western Colorado, as well as into southern Wyoming and eastern Utah. Once on the road we'll spend nights in Steamboat Springs, Moab, UT, and Gunnison, CO. All are spectacular settings! One of our lunch destinations will be Gateway, CO. Gateway is located at the halfway point of a magnificent 90-mile stretch of road in the middle of Nowheres-ville western Colorado, and is home to the brand new Gateway Canyons Resort. This resort just happens to be home to the 3 million dollar Oldsmobile Concept car that was purchased by the Hendrick's Collection at the 2005 Barrett Jackson Auction. Many other cars will also be on display at the 30,000 square foot Gateway Auto Museum. Just in case you're not impressed with the car collection, I guarantee you'll be impressed with the road that leads us to Gateway.

Other routes of interest will take us through Medicine Bow National Forest, in Wyoming, over the Grand Mesa, along the Colorado River and into Moab, Utah, and through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. There's also a stretch of road south of Gunnison that may be one of the greatest driving roads in the state, or anywhere for that matter.

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that the Peak to Peak is not an escorted, high-speed rallye, but an opportunity for fellow sports car enthusiasts to tour some of the most spectacular roads and scenery that Colorado has to offer. And it all coincides with the changing of the Rocky Mountain fall colors. Yes, life is good! This event is open to all sports cars (no sedans please) but as we will be traveling through some extremely desolate areas and higher elevations late model cars (reliable) are highly recommended.

Beyond the immediate gratification we receive through the use of our vehicles, and the camaraderie the group experiences during the social events, a major goal of this event is to raise funds for a couple of our local charities. The Jeffco Action Center and the Centennial School are the recipients of the Peak to Peak contributions in 2005. It is our goal to raise upwards of $15,000 for charities in 2006. To achieve that goal the fee for the 2006 Peak to Peak Rallye will be $3200 ($3000 if you'll not be staying at the Golden Hotel on the 17th and 21st). Once again we will hold the entry level at 35 cars. There is no doubt this number will be reached quickly so we highly recommend that commitments be made soon in order to lock in your spot. Returning participants will be automatically accepted upon receipt of the required $500 deposit (non-refundable after January 15th) as long as the deposit is received by January 15th. After that, any available spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
