2010 Peak to Peak Rallye Announcement

September 12-17, 2010

WHEELS TO MEALS LIVES!! Thanks to the overwhelming support of our participants the Peak to Peak Rallye will carry on, enthusiastically, for the foreseeable future. With the route set and hotels booked the 2010 rallye is already taking shape and promises to offer up as many good times and great roads as the prior events have.

A sampling of the many highlights we’ll encounter along this years route include a return to the Steamboat Grand. A trek over Douglass Pass will be a first time venture for Peak to Peak. A ranch-style cookout and bonfire alongside the Colorado River will bring back fond memories for 2006 participants. A true seat-of-the-pants driving experience can be achieved through Paradox Valley. A first-time visit to the south side of Black Canyon National Park will offer a different perspective from our usual north rim drive. A call-back from 2009 in which the 60 mile stretch of Hwy 114 was widely agreed upon as the “best drive ever”! And a final day lunch stop in which Colorado’s two highest peaks provide our back drop, thanks to Dave and Lori TenEyck. Oh yeah, and dare I mention yet another attempt will be made to make our way through a certain National Park that has repelled each of our previous attempts? Will Mother Nature finally allow us the opportunity to experience the awe-inspiring splendor of this location?

Peak to Peak’s primary purpose as a gathering of sports car enthusiasts for the enjoyment of their cars, scenery, food, and mostly, each other, has not only been fulfilled, it has even managed to exceed itself in each progressive year. That’s a real testament to the makeup of our participants, for sure. But the aspect of this rallye that continues to blow us away is the level to which the charitable efforts have risen to. Now this is where the true character of this group really stands out. A lot of time is put into the selection of our charity recipients and it has paid off not only for the organizations that have been chosen, it has paid off equally in the satisfaction we all receive knowing we’ve made a significant impact on many

lives that are in need, desperately so in many cases. Far too many people have to deal with uncertainties of life that we may tend to take for granted, like food, shelter, work, education, etc. It is in this area that we should feel gratified that the importance of Peak to Peak is far greater than that of its primary purpose. This is an amazingly generous group and we are proud to have you as part of the Peak to Peak family!

And now for the meat and potatoes. The entry fee for the 2010 Peak to Peak Rallye will be $3900 (an additional $175 for each night’s stay at the Golden Hotel before and/or after the on-road segment of the rallye, if needed). Entry will be limited to 40 cars. As always, we will accept returning entrants from the 2009 rallye automatically as long as a $1000 deposit is received no later than 1/15/10. All remaining spots will be filled by other interested parties beginning 1/16/10.

Peak to Peak is open to ALL sports cars (no sedans or SUV’s, please). That being said, please be mindful that there will be limited transport capabilities for vehicles unable to complete the trip, therefore reliability is essential. It is also important that we remind you this is NOT a high-speed, police escorted event and you will be held accountable for all actions deemed inappropriate by those that have been given the authority to deem such things.

It is always great to hear the positive feedback after each running of this event. We really appreciate the fact those words are also carried back home with you and relayed to fellow motor heads. Word of mouth is Peak to Peaks only form of advertisement. It’s proven a very affective mode, indeed. We thank you for your continued support of this event. It has become relevant beyond what we could have ever imagined and we are pleased that our participants have felt the need to have it continue. Here’s to many more years of one of the finest sports car rallies around!

Happy Rallying,

The Mathews Family
