2008 Peak to Peak Rallye Announcement
September 14-19, 2008

We haven't even made an official announcement (until right now), but since we've already received multiple deposits for the 2008 Peak to Peak Rallye I guess we pretty much have to do this thing again. Therefore, "Wheels to Meals" will hit the road once again in 2008! Past successes, especially with the recently completed '07 rallye, will put pressure on us to raise the bar yet again. To help achieve this goal we have modified the proposed route, which was published in the 2007 event route book. Believe it or not, this newly planned route will actually include more scenic driving than any Peak to Peak to date, and yes, we will once again attempt to make it through Rocky Mountain National Park. Third time's a charm, right? Overnight stays will be in Gateway, Pagosa Springs, and Glenwood Springs.

As greater emphasis of Peak to Peak Rallye, LLC efforts has been directed towards raising funds for worthy community service organizations, we continue to find out just how generous our rallye participants are. Event entry fees allowed rallye organizers to present a check in the amount of $10,000 to the Mountain Family Center (MFC), based out of Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. The presentation was quite touching and was accentuated by the news that this was the single largest donation ever received by the MFC. The other recipient of Peak to Peak donations would once again be the Jeffco Action Center (JAC). At Thursday evening's closing banquet our group stepped up in a big way by offering up over $19,000 in auction bids and general donations. 100% of that money was given directly to the JAC. We applaud these outstanding organizations for their efforts to assist citizens in need.

Okay, now on to the meat of this announcement. Without the EXTREME generosity of the '07 participants that made donations at our closing banquet, we would not have had funds to give to the Jeffco Action Center this year. With the ever-increasing expense to put on an event of this caliber we find it necessary to increase the entry fees to insure there will be charitable funds to distribute.

Therefore, the entry fee for 2008 is $4000 ($3700 for those not needing 2-nights stay at the Golden Hotel). This rate is still below those of other rallies around the country.

To help assure continued flexibility, the 2008 entry level will be limited to 40 cars, and with the likelihood that the event will sell out you will want to get your deposits ($500, non-refundable if entry is accepted) in ASAP! To fill the 40 available spots, all returning 2007 entrants will receive automatic acceptance ($500 deposit must be received no later than 1/15/08 to assure acceptance). Any remaining spots will be filled by other interested parties beginning 1/16/08.

We will most likely receive a greater number of Requests for Entry than what we will be able to accommodate so I'd like to stress the importance of getting your entries in quickly. Also, if you know for a fact that you WILL NOT be able to join us in '08, please mark the entry as such and send it back to Peak to Peak World Headquarters at your earliest convenience.

As a reminder, Peak to Peak is NOT a high-speed, police escorted event. It was conceived as a means for fellow sports car enthusiasts to come together to tour the magnificent Rocky Mountain region, enjoy fine dining and lodging, and great camaraderie. The event is open to all sports cars (no sedans please), but late model vehicles (i.e. reliable) are recommended due to the remote locations and extreme elevations we'll be traveling.

Thanks to all of you that have supported Peak to Peak Rallye over the course of the past four years. You have helped make it the E-ticket ride of sports car rallies. Cool cars, great folks, and Colorado's Rocky Mountains during the height of the changing fall colors………does it get any better?

Happy Rallying,

Harry, Cris, Greg & Mark
